90 Days To Effective Leadership Communications
Communication with Clarity and Impact
Our coaching program provides assistance to individuals to improve and enhance their approach to communicating with others. The objective for this program consists of several steps as outlined in this overview.
When misinterpretations occur during communication, many problems can take place. Feelings of frustration, anger and hurt can grow; individuals may feel misunderstood or not heard; projects are either delayed or not completed in an accurate or timely manner; and the list goes on. Communication that is not based on mutual respect and thoughtfulness, but rather rooted in possibly harsh behavior can be very costly to those involved. Our program is designed to pin point specific issues and develop proactive ideas to improve one’s interpersonal communication skills in a relatively short period of time. It takes focus and the commitment of all involved to learn how to better work with one another.
Steps in our Program
1. For those in the Los Angeles area, the first step is to come into our office for a two to three hour session. For those outside of the Los Angeles area, we can talk with the individual over the phone and have he or she complete the work style assessment profile over the Internet. Arrangements can also be made for one-on-one meetings at the organization’s location. During this time, the individual will talk with one of our business consultants to identify the primary issues to be focus on. During the first meeting, he or she will also be given some homework to explore about regarding his or her interaction with others.
2. A follow up meeting will take place 30 to 45 days after the first meeting. During this two to three hour session, we will review an in-depth work style assessment with the individual and discuss the homework assignment. At the end of this session, additional homework will be assigned to further test additional ideas that might come up during the workday.
3. 30 to 45 days later, we’ll either get together or set up a telephone meeting (for those out of the area) to see how things are going and to further role-play specific scenarios. Additional follow-up sessions might be booked for several more times to do a follow-up check in.
Most find this time very valuable in gathering ideas of how to approach others and how to deal with either management or client issues with a planned proactive style. Change tends to be a very difficult task. However, if someone is willing to consider approaching an issue or a situation in a slightly different way, the possibilities are unlimited. Wonderful changes can take place to create an environment that is based on supportive listening, respect for oneself and others, and sharing ideas in a way that help others to be more receptive.
